I was supposed to be over my first day of leukapheresis (stem cell harvest) by now, but life threw a (-nother) wrench.

As it turns out (from the results of the genome sequencing process), I have a mutation that is closely related to my tendency to grow lymphoma, so transplanting my own stem cells is not really useful… basically it would mean the “saved state” is already compromised, so why bother. So it’ll most likely be an external donor, the search has started. (And I also don’t know much more yet… further doctor/patient discussions need to commence.)
To not get bored in the meantime, I got some bacterial infection, so that’s what’s taking up my days now. I would consider this more like annoying than an actual huge issue — I’m not feeling terrible, but was hoping I could already be up and about this week a bit.
I’ll have a better update next time!

Facepalm, facepalm, fcking facepalm. But then again, it is amazing what doctors can do today. Hang in there, Gergő.

Hi Gergo, so sorry to read this. I sincerely hope a donor is found quickly and this will help you to put all this behind you at a certain stage. Try to keep up the courage and spirit in this difficult slippery marathon!
All the best mate!
