Heven’t posted in a (good) while.

But I’m alive!

Ugh, okay, more than a month without an update, where should I start.

My Hb levels are now almost okay. 7.something, and from 8.5 I’m good. Tr in the “gen pop” range (which is good), and Lk is almost-in-the-range-ish. So I’m recovering – good. (Memory refresher: Hb: Haemoglobine aka. red blood cells, Tr: Thrombocytes aka platelets, Lk: Leukocytes aka. white blood cells.)

The low results back in December were now the best timing (of course what is), I caught some run-of-the-mill flu and escalated it into a full bacterial sinusitis thing, with my right ear getting completely blocked, which is how this whole thing started back in 2024, actually. (So it took me a year of chasing KNO and then chemotherapy to get to… being half deaf again \o/ )

But that’s okay-ish now: as my Lk results recovered (-ish!), my ear unclogged (-ish), and although I’m still a bit sinusitish, I’m feeling more and more healthy (-ish!). I have some other ish-ues still, but I can walk, I’m moving around, and I had a visit to the VUmc KNO and there’s nothing really to do. I even sat on the bike (indoors) and cycled 17k which felt like 60.

The more interesting thing (that I’m not going to write about — yet) is the topic of stem cell transplant. We had and will have many meetings with the specialists and are contemplating the best course of action. It’s not trivial, but I’ll leave it at that for now.

Hi Gergo, good to read things are slowly improving. Keep up the fighting spirit and try to focus on any progress you are making since it still is a long journey with probably some more obstacles on your path,… but with your spirit, consistency, tenacity and everlasting humour I am convinced you will get the best out of it. Lots of courage and always open for a talk!

Nice to hear from you again, Gergő. Happy to hear things are slowly improving. I am sure the imminent-ish arrival of spring will accelerate your recovery :) Take care buddy.

Hey Gergo,

I’ll see you tomorrow, i’m rooting for you, i don’t have a lot to say except i’m hoping very hard you’ll recover well and health/luck may go your way again.
